10. How to create a RSS feed using your Joomla content

This tutorial assumes you are already logged into your Joomla admin panel

1) To Syndicate the content in your Joomla site, we will need to create a new module. Select the Extensions menu option

2) Then down to Module Manager and click it

3) Now click on the New button

4) Here we need to select the Module Type. We will click on the Syndication Feeds link

5) Click on the Title field to select it and enter a Title

6) Next select a template position for this module. Click on the Select Position button

7) Scroll down or select the Next button to find and select the appropriate position tag

8) Select your template Position by clicking on it

9) Enter any additional information needed for this module: Start and Finish Publishing dates, etc. We will add the display Text for the feed

10) Scroll down to select the Menu Assignment for this module

11) We want to display our RSS feed on the Home page only so we will select Only on pages selected

12) Next click the Main Menu tab

13) Select the Clear Selection button

14) Now select the Home menu item link so our module will only display on our Joomla Home page

15) Scroll up and click the Save & Close button

Now let's view our RSS feed on our Joomla website

16) Click on the View Site link

17) Here we can see our RSS Feed module displayed. Let's click the link to view the RSS page content

RSS readers and other websites can use this page URL to view your Joomla content
